RPMGlobal
Combining artificial intelligence and simulation to optimise haulage
1:15 PM - 1:30 PMBiography
Adam has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining); he is the Product Manager for RPMGlobal’s Simulation and Operational Management products. Adam has over 30 years of experience in the mining industry, with broad operational experience in underground metal and mineral sand mining. His experience ranges from mine management and consulting to planning and technical roles.
Mr Anthony Sacca
Global Head Of Sales
PitcrewAI
Enhancing haul truck tyre life and reliability with AI-based predictive monitoring in iron ore and open pit mining
1:30 PM - 1:45 PMBiography
Anthony Sacca is the Global Head of Sales of PitCrewAI, a mining technology company specialising in artificial intelligence and computer vision for haul truck tyre inspection. With over 25 years in mining technology and operations, Anthony has focused on applying advanced analytics, process and production improvements, automation to address critical reliability and safety challenges in large-scale open-pit mining.
Under his leadership, PitCrewAI has developed and deployed fully automated tyre inspection systems that integrate high-resolution imaging, machine learning models, and edge computing to detect defects and anomalies in real time. These systems provide actionable insights that extend tyre life, reduce catastrophic failures, and minimise unplanned downtime.
Anthony’s expertise lies in bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI research and the harsh realities of mine site environments, ensuring that solutions are both technically robust and operationally practical. His work with Tier 1 mining operations has helped establish new standards in predictive maintenance and condition monitoring for ultra-class haul fleets.
At the Iron Ore and Pit Conference 2026, Anthony will present on the application of AI-driven computer vision for tyre monitoring, highlighting field results, implementation lessons, and the future of intelligent inspection in open-pit mining.
Mr Samuel Ling
Short-term Planner
Newmont
Autonomous haulage meets open pit gold: Lessons from engineering and operation at Newmont Boddington
1:45 PM - 2:00 PMBiography
Samuel Ling is a Short-Term Planning Engineer at Newmont Boddington Gold Mine in Western Australia. With more than seven years of experience in open pit mine planning, Samuel is responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly designs, including ramps, hazard boundaries, and haulage strategies. He has built strong expertise in balancing safety and productivity in large-scale operations, particularly during the implementation of autonomous haulage systems (AHS). Samuel is passionate about continuous operational improvement and building strong team collaboration, believing in working closely with survey, geology, and operations teams to deliver practical solutions. Beyond his technical role, he's committed to sharing lessons learned from site experience to help the wider mining community adopt new technologies, improve safety and efficiency, and ultimately reduce the cost of living around the world.
