Carlie Byrne is a senior leader in mining, geoscience, innovation, and digital transformation, with extensive international experience across mineral exploration, geophysics, technology delivery, and operational transformation. She has held senior technical and leadership roles with organisations including Rio Tinto and Wireline Services Group, leading multidisciplinary teams spanning operational geophysics, exploration technology, geoscience innovation, digital enablement, advanced analytics, and data platforms.
She is recognised for connecting deep Geoscience expertise with practical business transformation to modernise how organisations generate, manage, and apply subsurface knowledge. Her work includes leading Digital Transformation in mineral exploration, shaping innovation portfolios, developing roadmaps, introducing product delivery disciplines, and translating emerging technologies into scalable operational capability. Carlie brings a combination of strategic leadership and hands-on delivery experience, with a focus on aligning people, process, technology, and governance to drive disciplined, value-focused execution.

Samuel Oliver is a consultant engineer from MathWorks who specializes in helping organizations improve their operations and logistics through statistical analysis, along with predictive modelling and simulation. Solutions provided typically include the integration of modern IT technologies to support data analytics, data science, big data, cloud, with more traditional OT or process industry production technologies. He has gained extensive experience over the last 12 years working on a broad range of problems with customers in Iron-Ore, Copper and Gold mining across the value chain. Prior to joining MathWorks, Sam worked in the automotive industry developing advanced dynamic control systems. He received an M.Eng.Sc. in mechatronics, a B.Eng. in mechanical and manufacturing, and a B.Sc. in computer science from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
