3:30 PM - 3:45 PMBiography
Graduated as a Chemical engineer from the National University of San Agustin Arequipa - Peru, with a master´s degree in Engineering Metallurgy and Geometallurgy. Currently has 14 years of experience in mineral processing.
Positions held: Industrial Process Analyst at Cerro de Pasco (Glencore); Shift Metallurgist at Mallay, Uchucchacua, Orcopampa and Tambomayo Plants (Buenaventura).
Speaker at National and International metallurgy congresses on matters of concentration of gold and polymetallic minerals.
Prof Malcolm Powell
Emeritus Professor
Liner Design Services
Tooling up for future innovation - turning overlooked process opportunities to immediate and long-term benefit
3:45 PM - 4:00 PMBiography
I have applied fundamental comminution research to design and process improvement on over 60 mines worldwide during 40 years at Mintek, UCT, and the JKMRC. I have communicated my work in over 230 papers, with a focus on application to industry. I collaborate extensively, with close compatriots on 5 continents forming the Global Comminution Collaborative (GCC). My professional objective is to maximise resource utilisation through significantly decreasing the energy and environmental footprint. To this end I provide education into the mining industry, lead the GCC, contribute to University research, and lead three R&D companies.
Dr Rajiv Chandramohan
Global Technical Director
Ausenco
A review of operating data over 50 years of secondary crushing prior to AG/SAG mills
4:00 PM - 4:15 PMBiography
Rajiv has over 20 years of experience in operations, mineral processing research, comminution, materials handling, metallurgical testing, and numerical and process simulations. He has developed a wide range of novel technologies applicable to the mining industry. Rajiv has worked and consulted on several global projects and operating mining sites ranging from design to optimisation.
Rajiv’s broader skills are mentoring and influencing engineering and operational teams to achieve strategic growth. His breadth of knowledge in control, process, mechanical, electrical engineering, and coordination skills are valuable assets for diagnosing and resolving complex problems in engineering and operations.
Rajiv is a globally recognised comminution SME, and he leads the global process optimisation group, providing debottlenecking and operational optimisation services.

Mr Lindon Pyle
Minerals Processing Engineer
Hatch
Modelling to Prepare for and Mitigate the Impact of Increasing Ore Hardness at Lihir
4:15 PM - 4:30 PMBiography
Lindon is a process engineer with over five years' experience in the design and development of minerals processing circuits and metallurgical optimization. He has developed a fundamental knowledge of effective crushing, grinding, flotation and dewatering circuit design within greenfield concentrators and brownfield expansion projects, across commodities including copper, gold, lithium, coal and nickel. Recently Lindon has worked as a process engineer in the expansion of a large Cu-Au operation from Concept through to Detailed Engineering phases. This involved a throughput increase in the crushing & grinding circuits and upgrades to maintain flotation recovery whilst increasing circuit capacity. This included the application of advanced technologies such as coarse particle flotation, tertiary vertical stirred milling and a Jameson Cell in rougher-scalper duty.
