David Seaman is a highly experienced metallurgy professional with over twenty years of expertise in copper, gold, and base metal processing. His career is marked by a consistent track record of optimizing operational performance through meticulous plant diagnostics and data-driven strategies. David is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in flotation with a PhD in this field from the JKMRC. David currently works at Newmont where his primary responsibility is in the technology and innovation space closely linked to process operations and the broader value-chain from mining to tails storage.

Chris graduated from the South Australian Institute of Technology with a Metallurgical Engineering degree in 1990, and was awarded his PhD from the Ian Wark Research Institute of the University of South Australia in 2002.
Chris has work within the mining industry in a variety of roles from shift foreman at the Teutonic Bore copper/zinc operation to Principal Technologist with Pasminco. He is currently employed by Magotteaux as Manager Minerals Processing Research, and leads their technical efforts investigating the effect of grinding chemistry on downstream processes.

BRC Chalcocite Processing – Recovery Improvements

Istvan presents a research topic for the Black Rock Cave chalcocite orebody located at Mount Isa. This research was completed as part of a program to improve copper recovery across all milling circuits at the Mount Isa Mines Copper Concentrator. Prior to leading the Copper Concentrator, Istvan has held leadership roles across multiple commodities and industries. His drive to improve business performance commenced early in his career while working in the sugar industry and has continued to evolve.
Istvan is a strong advocate for creating conditions where people feel supported and valued for driving change. He is committed to higher standards in safety, sustainability and developing capability within the teams he leads.
Mr Torok holds qualifications in engineering, business administration and professional coaching. Istvan likes to balance his work commitments by keeping active and giving back to the community through volunteering.

Mark Roberts is the Process Manager at GR Engineering and has 20 years’ experience in feasibility studies, design, operation, optimisation and commissioning of processing facilities. His operational experience at small and large operations across commodities including gold, copper, tantalum and mineral sands has provided a grounded knowledge which is now applied to the studies and project undertaken. Mark leads a team of talented Process Engineers that have successfully executed projects and studies from both the client and engineering side with the major projects from the last 10 years including Keysbrook Mineral Sands, Deflector, Nova, Dalgaranga, Mt Morgans, Sunrise Dam Upgrade, Warrawoona, Carosue Dam Upgrade, Thunderbox Expansion, Mt Ida, Abra, Bellevue, Cosmos, Thunderbird Mineral Sands, West Musgrave and Mungari Upgrade.

Grant has 15 years of mineral processing engineering experience in design, optimisation, operation, research, and development. He has been involved with CEEC since its inception, developing the Energy Curves while working at the JKMRC. In 2019 he won the CEEC medal and in 2022 he joined the Board of CEEC and became Chair of the CEEC Medal evaluation committee.
At Ausenco, Grant coordinates the development, innovation and assessment of new technologies and flowsheet strategies for the international comminution group and he is a leader in assessing and improving ESG outcomes for projects.

Janine has been a long-term Advocate for CEEC and the CEEC Medals, taking on the role of Executive President and Director in 2022. Since this time, Janine has been extending CEEC’s outreach and impact globally, refreshing the Board and Advocates and launching the Global Water Initiative in 2023 at the MetPlant Conference. Janine is a Fellow and Chartered Professional (Metallurgy) of the AusIMM, and served on the Board for 10 years, including 2 years as AusIMM President. She is also a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE), Honorary Secretary of the SA/NT Division of ATSE, an Elevate Scholarship Assessor and ATSE IMNIS Mentor. She is on the Board of the Playford Trust, which has awarded scholarships to 700 students over the past decade in South Australia and is on the Advisory Board of the Australian Society for Off-Earth Construction (ASOC) which operates out of the Andy Thomas Centre for Space Resources. Janine is on the Steering Committee for NExUS – the National Exploration Undercover School and is the Editor of the AusIMM Spectrum publication "We are Metallurgists, Not Magicians". Janine is a past Non-Executive Director of Base Resources Ltd, has been the Convenor of the MetPlant Conference Series since 2015 and is on the Advisory Board for the ARC Training Centre for Integrated Operations for Complex Resources (IOCTR).
