Biography

Dr. Ramana Reddy is an ACIPCO endowed professor, department of metallurgical and materials engineering, The University of Alabama. Professor Reddy has been teaching and research experience in the field of materials engineering, particularly in the areas of materials manufacturing, extraction, thermodynamics, energy materials, and thermal energy storage. He served as the Head of the MTE department and Associate director of the Green Manufacturing center. He has published over 440 papers and 27 books, including an undergraduate textbook on thermodynamics. He has supervised 116 Ph.D. & M.S. graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. He is the recipient of 5 patents. He has carried out several projects and received funding for research projects from various federal and private organizations (NSF, DOE, DOD, and Industry). He has received several significant professional recognition and awards: SEC Faculty Achievement Award, AIME Mineral Industry Education Award, Burnum Distinguished Faculty Award. He is a distinguished member (Fellow) of SME, a Fellow of ASM International and Fellow of TMS. He was honored with the named symposium and publication of the book, Professor Ramana Reddy Honorary symposium.

Biography

Prof. Inge Bellemans has been working since 2013 as a researcher in the Sustainable Materials Science research group at Ghent University (Belgium), with a research visit to MIT in 2018. Since 2019, she has been appointed as assistant professor. She is responsible lecturer for several courses and is supervisor of 5 PhD students. She focusses on industrially relevant processes in both a ferrous and non-ferrous pyrometallurgical context with a combination of modelling and experimental work and a specific focus on slag properties.

Biography

Alex Kondratiev has been graduated from Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Moscow Technical University) in 1996. He has been doing his Ph.D. in Pyrometallurgy Research Centre (Pyrosearch) at University of Queensland (Australia) from 2000 to 2004 and has been awarded with the "Doctor of Philosophy" Degree in the field of Metallurgical Engineering in 2004. After working as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Pyrosearch (UQ, Australia) from 2004 to 2008, Alex Kondratiev has moved overseas and has been working in GTT-Technologies (Germany) and Siemens Ltd (Russia) as a researcher. In 2013 he has joined Thermochemistry of Materials Research Centre at National University of Science & Technology "MISiS". Since 2023 he is working in Laboratory of Chemical Thermodynamics, Department of Physical Chemistry at Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia) as a Leading Researcher. Alex Kondratiev has published about 50 papers in refereed journals. His h-index is 17 (Scopus, WoS). His main fields of interest are physico-chemical properties of oxide melts and glasses, thermodynamics of oxide systems, rheology of melts and glasses.
