Molecular dynamics simulation of viscosity of selected pure oxide melts
3:20 PM - 3:40 PMBiography
Alex Kondratiev has been graduated from Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Moscow Technical University) in 1996. He has been doing his Ph.D. in Pyrometallurgy Research Centre (Pyrosearch) at University of Queensland (Australia) from 2000 to 2004 and has been awarded with the "Doctor of Philosophy" Degree in the field of Metallurgical Engineering in 2004. After working as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Pyrosearch (UQ, Australia) from 2004 to 2008, Alex Kondratiev has moved overseas and has been working in GTT-Technologies (Germany) and Siemens Ltd (Russia) as a researcher. In 2013 he has joined Thermochemistry of Materials Research Centre at National University of Science & Technology "MISiS". Since 2023 he is working in Laboratory of Chemical Thermodynamics, Department of Physical Chemistry at Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia) as a Leading Researcher.
Alex Kondratiev has published about 50 papers in refereed journals. His h-index is 17 (Scopus, WoS). His main fields of interest are physico-chemical properties of oxide melts and glasses, thermodynamics of oxide systems, rheology of melts and glasses.
Dr Francis Gyakwaa
Postdoctoral Researcher
University of Oulu
Assessment of phase evolution in CaO–MgO–Al2O3–SiO2 system with varied Al2O3/SiO2 ratio using in-situ high-temperature Raman spectroscopy and X-ray scattering
3:45 PM - 4:05 PMBiography
Dr Francis Gyakwaa is a postdoctoral researcher with the process metallurgy research unit at the University of Oulu, Finland. He completed his PhD in 2020 at the University of Oulu as part of the I4Future doctoral program (under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie H2020). His PhD research investigated Raman spectroscopy's application as a potential characterization technique for studying non-metallic inclusions commonly associated with Al-killed treated with calcium steels. His research interest is steel cleanliness assessment, such as analyzing non-metallic inclusions found in steels, metallurgical slag composition, and structural characterization using spectroscopic techniques. Additionally, Francis's research focus involves oxide scales in steel under different atmospheric conditions and Mold Fluxes studies.
