Biography

Honghao Chen received his BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Material Science & Engineering from the University of New South Wales Sydney. Honghao joined the School of Mineral and Energy Resource Engineering as a research assistant in 2020.

Biography

Patrycja Sheffield has over 11 years’ experience in mine planning and design, mine feasibility and scheduling as well as geotechnical aspects of underground coal mines. Patrycja works for Centennial Coal as a Group manager Mine Planning. In 2007 she obtained Master of Science at University of Science and Technology in Cracow in Mining Engineering and Geology. She worked for 4.5 years in UK deep coal mining and then in 2012 migrated to Australia. From 2012 to 2017 she worked at Springvale Mine as a Senior Mining Engineer (Geotechnical Engineer) and Technical Services Manager. In 2015 she completed Master of Science at Birmingham University as well as Master of Science in Mine Geomechanics at UNSW. In 2017 she completed Diploma of Mine Ventilation as well as Diploma of Work Health and Safety. She is an active member of underground strata and coal burst task-groups of Australian Coal Associations Research Program (ACARP) and has been the monitor of a number of ACARP projects related to these task groups.

Biography

Jessica Santana is a M.Eng Geotecnical Enginner, working one year with Nexa alongisde long-term mine planning engineers to ensure for safe and stable exacavations of three underground zinc and lead mines that operadores under sublevel stoping and room and pillar. They are responsible for employing numerical models, mostly with MAP3D, to evaluate medium-term plans and LOM.

Biography

Galih Wiria Swana is an Engineering Geologist by the educational background, and most of his career was spent as a Geotechnical Engineer in civil/infrastructure and mining operation, He completed his bachelor degree from Padjadjaran University of Indonesia, majoring in Geology. He took his master degree in Bandung Institute of Technology of Indonesia, majoring in Engineering Geology. Galih also loves to play music especially bass guitar while in his vacant time.

Biography

Yi Duan is a Research Scientist with Mining Geoscience at CSIRO Mineral Resources. He has over 13 years’ experience working in mine seismology. He has participated in more than 15 domestic and international projects in microseismic monitoring at mines. His research areas mainly include microseismic signal analysis and process, end-to-end machine learning based workflow for seismic data interpretation, distributed optic fiber sensing for microseismic monitoring in mines, longwall caving assessment and coal burst mechanisms study.
