Biography

Ian Gray has dealt with geomechanics in the civil, mining and petroleum environment over the last 44 years. His experience includes slopes in Hong Kong, metro tunnels, hydro schemes, gassy coal mines the world over, unconventional petroleum reservoirs, foundations and drilling systems. Since 1994 he has been the managing director of Sigra Pty Ltd a Brisbane based company that specialises in measurement of all parameters related to the ground. To do this Sigra has developed numerous field and laboratory equipment and techniques. Sigra is also involved in design of structures in the ground.

Trephon has specific interests in Mine Planning, Geotechnical Engineering and Mineral Economics.
