Biography

H. Lin is currently taking Doctor of Philosophy in the School of Mining Engineering at The University of New South Wales and is working on the in-situ stress estimation using borehole breakout phenomenon. He received his Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering at The University of New South Wales. His major research interests include rock mechanics and numerical modelling.

Wouter established GEOHART with the intention to consult to the civil and mining industry on a range of issues. Wouter has 28 years industry experience of which 24 years have been dedicated to geotechnical engineering in landslides, civil infrastructure, underground / open-cut mining and civil operations / civil tunnelling and dams/tailings consulting in Vietnam, China, Australia, Chile, UAE, Dubai, Indonesia and South Africa. Wouter has a range of civil and mining related geotechnical experience in the following commodities: Gold, copper, lead/zinc, shallow / intermediate / deep platinum, copper, lead/zinc, gold, brown and black coal.

Biography

Mahdi is a Principal Geotechnical Engineer with Golder providing consulting services in the areas of ground control and rock engineering to both coal and metalliferous mines. He is a MAusIMM CP (Geotech) and RPEQ. Mahdi has more than 17 years of experience in consultancy and research in broad range of rock engineering fields including field rock stress measurement, groundwater studies, numerical modelling, mine induced seismicity, rock and coal burst risk assessment, Open pit slope stability, mine subsidence, ground support design, and managing geotechnical investigations. Mahdi is an adjunct senior lecturer with school of Minerals and Energy Resources Engineering, UNSW.
