Biography

Professor Hadjigeorgiou holds the Pierre Lassonde Chair in Mining Engineering at the University of Toronto. He has over 25 years of international consulting, teaching and research experience in mining engineering. John is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Biography

A career starting in fluid mechanics, he transitioned into mining engineering/geomechanics after studying a master degree in Mining Geomechanics. Focus is managing safety, engineering design, technical support, research and development, business development and supply to international mining operations. His specialties include identifying continuous improvement projects and systems which enhance and streamline business effectiveness and optimisation. His strong focus on practical application, ensuring safe and efficient development practices and system design. Utilising these strengths provides for strong application into research and development (five product patents), business development and project management functions.
