Biography

Dr June Hill has diverse a background with both science and engineering degrees covering structural and metamorphic geology, plate tectonics, mathematics and statistics, machine learning and signal processing. June’s geological career is grounded in many years of field-based research in a wide range of geological environments. June uses her unique combination of geological expertise and mathematical and statistical knowledge to solve challenging geological problems for the minerals exploration and mining industries. She has particular expertise in the automation of geological analysis of drill hole data. June is currently working with CSIRO Minerals Resources and the MinEx Co-operative Research Centre.

Biography

Ivy joined CSA Global in 2015 as a Principal Consultant, and has advised on listings and other commercial transactions on the Australian, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canadian and UK stock exchanges. Ivy is a non-executive director for Battery Minerals listed on in the ASX, a director of Multicultural Futures a not-for-profit organisation supporting migrants and refugees in their first 5 years in Australia, and is a member of the VALMIN committee, and a past chair and committee member for the Perth branch of the AusIMM. Ivy is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ course.

Ian Glacken FAusIMM(CP), FAIG, MIMMM, CEng, MSc, BSc(Hons), DIC is a geologist and geostatistician who has been active internationally in the mining industry for 35 years. Ian has studied in the UK, USA and in Australia, and after graduation worked for Western Mining (WMC Resources) for 16 years worldwide as an exploration geologist, mine geologist, mine geology manager and senior resource geologist in nickel, gold, copper and uranium. Ian was the General Manager Geology and Training at Snowden for 10 years and since 2008 has been the Director of Geology at Optiro, where he was a founder. At Optiro, Ian specialises in resource auditing for a range of global majors, reconciliation, resource estimation, QAQC, sampling and geostatistical studies, and presents a variety of training courses worldwide.

Biography

Rayleen is a Principal Consultant and Mining Geologist with over 23 years’ experience in the resource industry. Before joining Snowden, Rayleen worked as a Mining Geologist in several gold deposits throughout Western Australia, responsible for grade control, quality control, ore body interpretation, reconciliation and monthly reporting. Since joining Snowden, in 2006, Rayleen has worked as a consultant on multiple reconciliation projects from initial scoping through to product implementation, testing, training, project management and support roles. Rayleen has authored and contributed to several white papers and is involved with Snowden's training division, specialising in Reconciliation.

John Horton is a geologist with over 30 years experience in resource evaluation and mining planning with the last 20 years as a consultant principally in base metals, gold and iron ore projects. This includes numerous nickel laterite deposits from round the world, a dozen laterite feasibility studies and 10 years experience with scandium.

Biography

Since completing his honours degree in Geology in 2011, James has worked as a Geologist at many sites across Australia. During this time he has gained experienced in coal exploration and mining, and coal seam gas production. Currently James is employed at BHP in the Coal Geoscience department. He is located in the Bowen Basin, Central Queensland where he works as a Mine Geologist. James is particularly interested in how modern technology can enhance the mining process.
