Analysis of the Mount Isa Copper concentrate preflotation circuit using advanced diagnostic techniques

Abstract

Biography

Associate Professor Kym Runge is the leader of the Separation Research Program at the SMI-JKMRC which aims to develop novel separation processes to improve mining. It involves research into high voltage comminution, coarse particle flotation, classification and novel flotation reagents. Kym is a flotation specialist with 25 years experience. Her research has involved development of flotation simulation and diagnostic procedures, including the development of JKSimFloat, a flotation simulator. She also worked 10 years for Metso, the biggest mining equipment supplier, as a flotation consultant and researcher, aiming to develop improved flotation equipment, with a particular focus on coarse particles.
