Abstract

Biography

Duncan commenced his metallurgy career in the 1980’s at North Broken Hill – Peko’s Warrego copper, gold, and bismuth operations in the Northern Territory, followed by time at WMC’s Kambalda nickel concentrator. Duncan then spent 4 years in gold plants in southern WA with Resolute Ltd. After time at Queensland Nickel and managing a private CIP carbon cleaning business in WA, Duncan moved to Tasmania for 8 years where he worked in mill and general management positions at the Renison Bell and Mt Bischoff tin mines, including a 2 year period making paper at Australian Paper’s Burnie mill. Following a brief foray back into gold at Hill End in NSW and Union Reefs in the NT, Duncan joined PanAust Ltd in 2010 as their Principal Metallurgist, before moving to Mineralis Consultants in 2017.

Proving best practice gravity gold circuit design

Abstract

Biography

Goldie Heard is the Senior Metallurgist at Gruyere Gold Mine, Australia’s newest gold project. Gruyere is in the West Australian goldfields region and is a 50:50 joint venture between Gold Fields Limited and Gold Road Resources. Commissioning was completed in 2019, with first gold achieved in June 2019. Prior to Gruyere, Goldie joined Gold Fields Limited in 2016 as a Plant Metallurgist at their gold mine Granny Smith. Goldie then transferred to Gruyere in April 2019 to broaden her knowledge of gold processing on large scale plants, and to gain valuable commissioning experience. During the commissioning and ramp up of the processing facility, Goldie has worked closely with Gekko Systems to commission and optimise the Inline Leach Reactor. Goldie graduated Curtin University with a Bachelor of Engineering, majoring in Chemical Engineering.

Biography

Metallurgist working in gold and base metals over the past 9 years. Worked in NSW, NT, WA, TAS and some project work in West Africa. Enjoy problem solving and improving productivity in all areas of the processing environment. Enjoy sharing what I've learnt and picking up new skills from others. When not working i'm brewing beer, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Biography

Rod has over 35 years of experience in minerals processing across gravity separation, flotation and leaching of hard-to-treat precious and base metals within Australia and overseas. Rod is a co-inventor of the Albion Process™ Technology and has extensive experience across the whole Albion Process™. Rod has broad operational know-how, with global commissioning experience in gold, copper, lead and zinc operations. He also has wide process engineering, flowsheet development and plant design experience.
