Ramlan is a Senior Application Engineer for the Grinding Media Division of ME Elecmetal, a role he has held since 2019. He earned his degree in Mining and Metallurgy Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (Indonesia) in 2005.
With over 15 years of experience, Ramlan has worked across major mining operations in Indonesia, Mongolia, Zambia, and Panama, contributing to projects from design and commissioning to the optimization of comminution circuits. His expertise spans the full lifecycle of grinding operations, with a strong focus on circuit performance, process efficiency, and applied wear solutions.

Dr Stephen Rayward runs a small Research and Development Company: MIDAS Tech (Mining Industry and Data Analytics Service). Stephen's education background is BSc (Hons) - Applied Mathematics, MSc Geology and Geophysics (Physical Oceanography), and PhD Mineral Processing Engineering. Stephen's conventional professional career largely included working as a Physical Oceanography (Australian Institute of Marine Science) , and Senior Research at JKMRC. At JKMRC Stephen largely developed mathematical models and software across a spectrum of applications: Mineralogy, Simulation, Mass Balancing, Tomography and Geometallurgy. He has published numerous refereed research papers, albeit changed his name from Stephen Gay to Stephen Rayward in 2020.
In 2008 Stephen founded Midas Tech, which focused on developing software and mathematical modelling for mineral processing plant optimisation using modern mathematical approaches (the subject of the seminar). However other activities have included Excel error detection systems, Core scan analysis, stereology, training of AI systems and flotation analysis. Stephen is a course instructor both through Midas Tech and DEKA Dynamics, and has given numerous International courses in a diverse number of topics including Professional Excel, VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), Mass Balancing, Mineral Processing Simulation and Relational databases. Stephen also provides numerous online courses in the above topics as well as in information theory and machine learning.
In 2024, Stephen changed pace, and moved to the Sunshine Coast where he enjoys an active lifestyle. His current main focus is to develop and release online courses related to information theory-based machine learning in mineral processing.

Muhammad Dzikra Soefihara is a Technical Manager (Metallurgy) at IXOM Pty Ltd with over 10 years of experience in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy across Australia and Indonesia. His career includes technical and commercial roles with Northern Star Resources, BASF, and consulting firm involved in mining and metallurgical projects. Muhammad holds a Master of Engineering (Metallurgy) from the Western Australian School of Mines and currently focuses on metallurgical reagent selection, laboratory and plant-scale testwork and process optimisation.

Ernesto Mori is a Mechanical Engineer with 16 years of experience in mining, mineral processing, plant operations, and reliability, with a strong focus on grinding processes and equipment operating under severe conditions across the Americas. He currently serves as Product Manager – Mill Linings for the Americas at Tega Industries, where he works closely with mining operations to develop and optimize lining solutions for SAG and Ball Mills. His experience combines process understanding, operational analysis, materials performance, wear mechanisms, and reliability, supporting the development of solutions aimed at improving grinding efficiency, equipment availability, and overall plant performance.

Jasper Schaffer is an Engineer at Woodgrove Technologies, where he specializes in Advanced Process Control (APC) integration and global client engagement.
He has extensive experience with Woodgrove’s PARC® and AwaRE® systems, delivering control solutions that bridge the gap between operator challenges and optimal plant performance. Jasper has contributed to projects across a wide range of operations and jurisdictions, consistently driving sustainable and long-term results for clients.
He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada. Outside of work, he is an avid sailor and has a strong interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
