Mr Nicolas Pereira
Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Red Earth Engineering
Numerical investigation on the effect of corners to static liquefaction triggering
3:40 PM - 3:50 PMBiography
Nicolas is a geotechnical engineer with significant experience as a consultant for the mining industry, specializing in numerical modelling. His experience includes the development of deformation analysis in 2D and 3D for underground and open-pit mining projects. In mine waste, his focus has been in static and dynamic deformation modelling, along with dam breach analysis using material point method (MPM).
Nicolas specializes in numerical modelling using FLAC/FLAC3D carrying out stability and deformation assessments that involve rock and soil mechanics. Has been responsible for developing and running large 3D dynamic assessments using advanced constitutive models for tailing storage facilities. His programming expertise has allowed him to develop tailored solutions to model complex conditions and automate processes to improve data reporting and visualization for high-level mining projects.
