Biography

Olle has broad international experience in the areas of crisis and emergency management, from front-end operational level, through to senior management and executives level in multinational companies and organisations, as well as Government/Cabinet Minister level. With more than 40 years of experience as a Senior Fire Officer, he has a holistic risk-based approach to crisis and emergency management. Olle’s extensive experience in fire & rescue operations has evolved into a specialty in command & control within large-scale operations, the Fire Department, Major Emergency Management for onshore and offshore operations, and industry and forestry. He has conducted numerous large-scale fire and rescue operations offshore and on land. He has designed and implemented crisis and emergency management systems for global companies and worked for NATO’s civilian branch, the EADRCC as Head of Evaluation.

Abstract

Biography

Nicolas is a geotechnical engineer with significant experience as a consultant for the mining industry, specializing in numerical modelling. His experience includes the development of deformation analysis in 2D and 3D for underground and open-pit mining projects. In mine waste, his focus has been in static and dynamic deformation modelling, along with dam breach analysis using material point method (MPM). Nicolas specializes in numerical modelling using FLAC/FLAC3D carrying out stability and deformation assessments that involve rock and soil mechanics. Has been responsible for developing and running large 3D dynamic assessments using advanced constitutive models for tailing storage facilities. His programming expertise has allowed him to develop tailored solutions to model complex conditions and automate processes to improve data reporting and visualization for high-level mining projects.
