Stephen is a qualified Geologist, B.Sc.Hons, University of Queensland, with more than 30 years of exploration and mining experience. In August 2022, he completed a Graduate Certificate in Minerals and Energy Management at UWA.
Stephen is a Member of the AusIMM.
From 1992 to mid-2000, he worked on gold mining and exploration projects in Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia. Mid-2000 to 2015 he worked on several Indonesian coal projects.
Stephen worked on the exploration and resource development of the Altura Lithium Project, Pilgangoora in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, from June 2016 to October 2020. He worked for Pilbara Minerals in early 2021, before working for Morella Corporation April 2021 through until June 2022.
Stephen was appointed as Exploration Manager, Aldoro Resources in July 2022 and has more than 6 years experience in the WA lithium industry.

Carsten Laukamp is a principal research geoscientist at CSIRO Mineral Resources (Perth, Australia) and leading the AuScope National Virtual Core Library Infrastructure Program. Carsten explores the potential for combined use of reflectance spectroscopy, geochemistry and geophysics for 3D mineral mapping of critical metals deposits and exploration through cover.

Michael is a geologist with 22 years’ experience in African geology and exploration throughout Africa and parts of the Middle East. He a Principal Consulant (Battery Metals Coordinator) and has been with CSA Global (South Africa) since 2019. He has significant experience in Li, Sn and Ta-Nb mineralisation, pegmatite/vein hosted mineralisation types. He is a Competent Person/Qualified Person for pegmatite hosted mineralisation, Li and Sn/Ta-Nb mineralisation in terms of international reporting codes (JORC, SAMREC, NI43-101). He has broad commodity experience in PGMs, chrome, gold, base metals, coal, gold and zirconium., and significant experience in data interpretation, target generation, exploration programme design and management. He is a member of the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions, a fellow of the Geological Society of South Africa. He has lectured to the Exploration Geology, M.Sc. at Rhodes University on the topic of Exploration Geochemistry and Pegmatite Mineralisation.

Patents in Lithium, Battery and Energy Metals – who is patenting what?

Peter has over 30 years of experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, preparing validity and infringement opinions, as well as conducting contentious matters, including patent oppositions and appeals in resources related technologies. His clients come from a broad range of industries, typically the mining and resources sector, and often relating to innovative chemical, mineral processing, and process engineering technologies.
A Fellow of the AusIMM, Peter is regularly called upon to provide technical presentations relating to intellectual property protection for IP Australia and a variety of institutional and professional groups. After 15 years on the regional committee for the Licensing Executives Society of Australia & New Zealand in Western Australia (between 1995 and 2010) and, having served periods as both Regional Chair (twice) and Treasurer, Peter is very familiar with the innovation and technology transfer communities in Australia and New Zealand.
Peter was a member of the State government’s Innovation Advisory Committee between 2007 and 2008 and was involved as a judge in Western Australia’s Innovator of the Year Awards from 2010 to 2012. He was also a member of the State Government’s Innovation Vouchers Program evaluation panel for 2015, and in 2020 joined AusIMM’s Perth Branch committee.

David Turvey is a geologist with >35 years’ experience in the Australian and Asian mining industries, especially in exploration, evaluation, business development and corporate M&A activities in precious-base metals, bulk commodities, specialty metals and critical minerals. His career includes international roles for major corporations (CSR Ltd, Chevron Corporation, Normandy Mining) and executive management positions in mid-small public companies. In 1998, he founded a successful consultancy business, Equant Resources, and is associated with the Penfold Group in marketing and investment in the international mining industry. David is currently a Director of Power Minerals Limited (ASX : PNN).
