Gamini Senanayake is an Associate Professor of Extractive Metallurgy at Murdoch University and a member of several professional bodies including AusIMM, TMS, SME and the AusIMM Perth Branch Committee. Since 2018, he has served in the organizing committee of the annual AusIMM-Murdoch Conferences of Lithium, Battery and Energy Metals.

Shannon O’Rourke commenced as Chief Executive Officer of the Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre on 1 December 2021. He is a seasoned executive with 25 years’ experience in the energy sector including senior management roles with Woodside, Chevron and industrial research with Rio Tinto. His career spans traditional and renewable energy markets with a track record of success in the commercialisation of research outcomes including managing CRC collaborations through the Future Fuels CRC and the CO2 CRC.

I started my PhD in 2021. My research area includes Eco-friendly fiber processing, fiber extraction, bio-composites, nanomaterials, nanocomposite, antimicrobial properties of MNPs, wastewater treatment, and photocatalytic degradation of dyes.

About to finish PhD focusing on the mineralogical and chemical properties of spodumene ores and concentrates with the aim to lower impurities and improve Li-recoveries.

James Carpenter has been with Eriez Australia for 2 years as a flotation process engineer, having previously completed a PhD at the University of Newcastle in the topic of gravity separation. His experience includes the commissioning and optimisation of pilot and industrial scale flotation units across Australia.

Dr. Jack Zhang is the Associate Vice-President, Strategic Technologies of SRC’s Mining and Minerals Division. He has over 20 years of extensive industrial, engineering, operation and research experience. His major areas of focus include the processing of rare earth, uranium, potash and phosphate, rare metals, lithium, industrial minerals, as well as tailings/mine water/effluent treatment. At SRC, he has led and supervised numerous mineral processing, metallurgical testing, optimization and R&D projects for global clients.
