Sebastian Maaß, an engineer in chemical and process engineering, He began studying chemical and energy engineering in 1998 in Berlin at the Technische Universität Berlin. In 2004 he participated in a Bayer trainee program at Bayer Technology services in Leverkusen, Germany. After his graduation, he started his Ph.D. at the department of energy and process engineering, receiving his Ph.D. with distinction (summa cum laude) in 2011. In 2012 he was awarded the young research award from the European Federation of Chemical Engineers in the field of mixing, which is given once every three years to one phd all over Europe for exceptional research. During his phd he received several national and international grants for his scientific projects, he authored and co-authored more than 40 publications and gave more than 100 oral and poster presentations on German and international conferences. He is a founding member of two companies. One of which is SOPAT GmbH. Where he is serving as the CSO overseeing the company strategy and business developments. The Smart Online Particle Analysis Technology (SOPAT) has received several research and business awards (ICT-Innovative; Business Plan Contest Berlin-Brandenburg; Science4Life; Step Award; ICT start-up of the year, German Innovation Award)

Dr. Uwe König studied geology and applied mineralogy at Martin-Luther-University Halle (Germany) and the UFPA (Universidade Federal do Para) Belem (Brazil). In 2006 he reached his PhD in the field of applied mineralogy.
Since 2005 Uwe works for Malvern Panalytical B.V. in the Netherlands and is responsible for the development of new analytical solutions for the mining, minerals and metals industry.
