Biography

Professor Colin Roberts practices as an International Resources Geo‐strategist. He is a Chartered Petroleum Engineer, Chartered Mining Engineer, Chartered Scientist, Resources & Investment Legal Academic, International Commercial and Investment Arbitrator, Accredited International Commercial Mediator, Adjudicator, Expert Determiner and Dispute Board Member, with over 40 years of Multi-disciplinary resource industry experience, most of which has been in the developing world. Colin is also a Professor at WASM: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering, Curtin University, and his current project is in Somaliland, Somalia. Professor Roberts has spent most of his working life in the developing world and now specializes in dispute resolution, mitigation of sovereign risk, advising governments in resources law and policy and facilitation of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the resources, energy and infrastructure sectors. His current project is in Somaliland, Somalia.

Biography

Colleen is an accomplished leader who motivates others to achieve what they previously thought to be unachievable. Her leadership style is inclusive, and she possesses stellar strategic thinking ability and down to earth communication skills with the capacity to deliver on outcomes. She is a firm believer that change is exciting when you successfully ‘sell’ the vision of the new future and gain buy-in of all affected stakeholders. She has been the CEO with Regional Development Australia Perth since 2013, having delivered a number of initiatives to drive new business investment and job growth for the Perth region. These include: Driving Change: Perth and Peel an Economic Development Strategy and Infrastructure Priorities Plan for Perth and Peel (2016); Security and Defence in Western Australia: An Economic Perspective (2017); Building the Case for Energy Metals and Battery Manufacturing in WA (2018) and Establishing the Perth DroneHub. She is currently studying for her MBA at the University of Western Australia.

Biography

Guy Meade, Production Manager – emigrated from the UK in 1986 as a young Mechanical Engineer, started working at Greenbushes in 1989, graduated from Murdoch University with a BSc in Mineral Processing completing the degree externally while holding down a full time role. Guy has worked in a number of roles at Greenbushes from Laboratory Technician through to Production Manager and has 27 years’ experience in the Lithium Minerals industry.

I am a Metallurgical engineer and metals consultant with over 20 years in the industry. Experience across a wide range of commodities and deep understanding of various metal processes. I have also worked in various roles within the industry: Process Engineering, Project Management, Project Engineering, Research Scientist and Business Development. I am keenly interested in the Energy Metals such as Lithium, Cobalt, Vanadium and graphene. Involved in feasibility studies, and market research on the subject.

He began his career as a Plant Metallurgist in South Africa. He has been responsible for the process design of many processing plants including crushing & screening, milling, CIP/CIL, flotation, gravity, magnetic separation, dense media and heap leaching plants
