Biography

Nick is a computer geologist with over 20 years working in geosciences mainly in technical roles that usually involve software that makes life easier for geologists. Nick has also spent time working with geophysical data for exploration, drillhole data management, directional drilling and resource geology. More recently, Nick has been responsible for forging Deswik's path into Geology, creating the 'GeoTools' products for mine geologists involved in sampling, mapping, drillhole design and ore control.

Geologist, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Geo-Mining-Metallurgical Specialization and Member of the World Sampling Council: International Pierre Gy Sampling Association. 22 years of international and multi-commodities mining experience across the supply chain, at different leadership and technical roles. 15 years of working on Sampling & QAQC applied in Exploration, Mining, Operation, Processing, Ports and Marketing. 4 years at the BHP Resource Centre of Excellence, providing Sampling & QAQC support in all the commodities in BHP, and across the supply chain: from Exploration to Port and Marketing.

Biography

Lauren Elliott is the Principal Ore Deposit Knowledge Geologist for Lihir gold mine, in PNG, for Newcrest Mining. Lauren has a total of 18 years diverse operational experience as a Mine Geologist, with strong technical and leadership/management skills. She has successfully worked in a variety of different open pit and underground operations around the world (Africa, North America and South America), and thrives in culturally diverse work environments. Her current role is a senior technical role, directing the technical geological functions of the Lihir Gold mine, including geometallurgy, resource growth, scheduling and reconciliation. Lauren is a member of the AIG with RPGeo registration and a member of the AusIMM.

Biography

Explorer at heart, Jasmin brings more than 30 years of geologist’s experience across different countries, commodities, and scale of business. Geology education he gained in Former Yugoslavia, The Netherlands (NUFFIC Scholarship) and the United States (IREX Scholarship) as well as his passion for exploring the relationship between landscape evolution and mineral deposits led him as far as Guyana’s tropical rainforests. He spent two years there working on alluvial diamond investigation as a geologist specialist - volunteer to UNDP, technical assistance to developing nations. The same passion took him later to Yandicoogina Channel Iron Ore deposit in Pilbara, Western Australia where he currently works with Rio Tinto.

Biography

I was a wireline logger with Heathgate resources at their Beverly Uranium mine from 2007-2009, . Then joined BHP as a mine geologist at Blackwater coal mine in central Queensland in 2010, move to Goonyella Riverside Mine in 2011 and progressed through senior and Principal Mine Geologist. After a stint with BHP Technical Marketing for Iron Ore in 2016 joined planning team for BHP Coal as a mining engineer in 2017. Moved to Principal Coal Planning and Reconciliation for 2020-21 and currently a Geometallurgist. Completed an MSc in geostatistics in 2016 and currently working towards a PhD in mathematics on optimal blending given uncertainty.
