Biography

Dr Liming Lu is a Senior Principal Scientist at CSIRO and has more than 30 years research experience in the characterisation, processing and evaluation of iron ores, metallurgical coals and metals. Liming received the Josef S Kapitan Award from Association of Iron and Steel Technology, USA in 2003 and Sawamura Award from the Iron and Steel Institute of Japan in 2018. He is the editor of the book entitled “Iron ore – mineralogy, processing and environmental sustainability” and has published more than 10 book chapters and 150 papers. Liming is a member of review board of Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A and Minerals, member of Editorial Board for Ironmaking and Steelmaking, member of advisory board for ISIJ International.

Biography

Raoul Schmitt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Energy and Raw Materials from Clausthal University of Technology, Germany. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in Georesources Engineering at Lulea University of Technology as part of the EIT labeled EMerald Erasmus Mundus master's program in Resources Engineering. His master's thesis investigated the relationship between grindability and rock type mineralogy at Aitik mine and was carried out in collaboration with Boliden AB.

Biography

Gaogui Jing is a PhD Student in the School of Mineral Processing and BioEngineering at Central South University in Changsha, China. Prior to studying at CSU, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Mineral Processing from Northeastern University in China. His research interests include using Surface Chemistry to improve the processing of critical minerals and the treatment of mineral processing waste. His work at Yuanjing Tungsten plant allowed him to apply this to a real-world processing problem.

Biography

Roxana is a mining engineer and holds a Masters in Environmental Management. She has more than 30 years of experience in consulting for mining and environmental projects. She gained her experience in sustainability in the mining industry as a project manager, conducting several environmental impact studies for significant projects in Chile and Argentina. She has been part of Metso Outotec as a senior team member for 16 years, providing technical support for consulting and research and development projects. Her current role has been to develop, promote and lead consulting services related to sustainability and environmental issues and actively involved in energy efficiency and water management services.

Biography

Sherwin Morgan has been working in the Minerals processing industry for 20 years. He started his career in South Africa and now resides in Australia. His experience covers research, detailed engineering, equipment manufacturing, business and product development. He is currently working for Jord as the Technology Manager for the NovaCell flotation device.

Biography

Leila Hosseini has a master`s of metallurgical engineering from Iran`s toppest technical university (Sharif university of technology). She has more than 11 years of experience in R&D department, is experienced in iron ore beneficiation, iron pelletizing and steel making, as well as the conceptual design of iron beneficiation plants. She has test designed and supervised the designing pilot tests of iron beneficiation plants and iron pelletizing plants, as well as the conceptual design of iron beneficiation and pelletizing plants. She is a member of the commissioning team of iron beneficiation plants and a member of the commissioning team of iron pelletizing plants, and she has presented papers in previous IMPCs (Chile, Canada, Russia, Canada, South Africa).
