Biography

M. Sc. Christine Bauer (f) studied “integrated life sciences - biology, biomathematics and biophysics” at the Friedrich-Alexander-University in Erlangen (FAU, Germany), the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH, Switzerland) and the University of Cantabria in Santander (UC, Spain) from 2011 to 2017. Since 2018, she is working as a scientific employee at the Fraunhofer Development Center X-ray Technology (EZRT). Christine Bauer’s professional activities include statistical data analysis, X-ray computed tomography and dual-/multi-energy X-ray imaging.

Biography

Thirty-five years industry experience focussed on copper, base metals and gold industries. Greg is a recognised specialist in geometallurgy, plant design, plant optimisation and continuous improvement. His previous role as Technology Manager at JKTech provides a unique skill set in state-of-the-art optimisation knowledge including metallurgical interpretation of mineralogical data and test results, comminution circuit design, flotation machine design, flotation circuit design and simulation and geometallurgy. As former Technical Director for Wood plc he was engaged in Independent Peer Review, Due Diligence, and feasibility reviews across the group globally. He is currently General Manager of Geometecon, specialising in geometallurgy and flotation plant optimisation. In addition to this role he is a technical consultant to JKTech and is currently the custodian of the their flotation machine characterisation database.

Biography

Leila Hosseini has a master`s of metallurgical engineering from Iran`s toppest technical university (Sharif university of technology). She has more than 11 years of experience in R&D department, is experienced in iron ore beneficiation, iron pelletizing and steel making, as well as the conceptual design of iron beneficiation plants. She has test designed and supervised the designing pilot tests of iron beneficiation plants and iron pelletizing plants, as well as the conceptual design of iron beneficiation and pelletizing plants. She is a member of the commissioning team of iron beneficiation plants and a member of the commissioning team of iron pelletizing plants, and she has presented papers in previous IMPCs (Chile, Canada, Russia, Canada, South Africa).

Biography

Kirsten Corin is an Associate Professor within the Centre for Minerals Research at the University of Cape Town. She holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Cape Town. She has been a member of the Centre for Minerals Research since 2008 and leads the Flotation Chemistry grouping within the Centre. Her research is focused on froth flotation with specialisation in the areas of water within flotation, grinding chemistry and electrochemistry of mineral systems.

Future (and present) trends in flotation circuit design

Biography

Lindon is a process engineer with a background in the design and development of minerals processing circuits and metallurgical optimisation. As a key team member within the Mining & Minerals Processing group at Hatch he has developed a fundamental knowledge of effective crushing, grinding, flotation and dewatering circuit design within greenfield concentrators and brownfield expansion projects, across commodities including copper, gold, lithium, coal and nickel. Recently Lindon has worked as a process engineer in the expansion of a large Cu-Au operation from Concept through to Detailed Engineering phases. This involved a throughput increase in the crushing & grinding circuits and upgrades to maintain flotation recovery whilst increasing circuit capacity. This included the application of advanced technologies such as coarse particle flotation, tertiary vertical stirred milling and a Jameson Cell in rougher-scalper duty.

Biography

Hongliang Han received his PhD degree in Metallurgy from University of Science & Technology Beijing in 2010. He then worked at Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences before joining CSIRO Mineral Resources in April 2016. Hongliang has more than 15 years research experience in effective utilisation of mineral resources, especially in sintering and pelletising, and has undertaken more than 40 research projects on iron ore agglomeration from governments, steel mills and iron ore companies. He has published more than 100 papers, 1 treatise and 3 patents.
