Prof. Dr. Jürgen Kretschmann is President of the TH Georg Agricola University and CEO of DMT-LB mbH. Since 2005 he is External Professor at the RWTH Aachen University. From 1990 to 2001 he held different Management positions in the German Hard Coal Mining Industry (RAG Group) and has been CFO of the Managing Board of RAG BILDUNG GmbH from 2001 to 2006. His research focus is centered on Sustainable Resources Management, Mining Management and Risk Management.

David's background in innovation and design along with a rich mining pedigree has allowed him to worked with over 300 Mining, Engineering, Technology and Services businesses across Australia, including cooperative ventures with METS Ignited, AusIMM and Austmine. In addition to Mining, David has run a successful strategic consultancy and an award-winning software company. He brings a Design Thinking discipline to all his work and is a passionate advocate for leading and developing innovation and the future of work.

Jim spent 18 years in the aluminium smelting industry with Comalco and Rio Tinto. Roles included technical and line management functions mostly associated with casthouse operations. Jim then moved to the US and worked in coal mining with Rio Tinto's US coal division and Cloud Peak Energy. Prior to returning to Australia in 2016, Jim was Senior Vice President Marketing and Government Affairs with Cloud Peak - responsible for both the annual sale of up to 100 million tonnes of thermal coal to domestic and international customers as well as the company's lobbying and public relations activities. Jim has a BSc and PhD from UNSW and is currently an energy consultant and commentator

John Horton is a geologist with over 30 years experience in resource evaluation and mining planning with the last 20 years as a consultant principally in base metals, gold and iron ore projects. This includes numerous nickel laterite deposits from round the world, including a dozen laterite feasibility studies and 10 years experience with scandium.
