Abstract

Biography

Andy started his exploration career with Uranerz in the nineteen eighties and shortly after went on to complete a PhD on uranium deposits of the East Alligator Rivers region, Northern Territory. He joined Gold Fields based in Oxford UK as leader project generation after a lengthy spell with BHP including 3 years as principal geologist business development in San Francisco, and interludes at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman and Monash University in Melbourne. Returning to Australia he joined Paladin as chief geologist in 2010 and after retiring from Paladin joined the Deep Yellow Group where he is chief geologist.

Biography

Andrew has over 48 year’s extensive global experience in the mineral exploration industry and a track record in discovery of significant resources. Andrew has explored successfully for uranium, precious metals, base metals, and mineral sands globally. His exploration successes span 40 years including the Ranger 68 deposit (1976), Rosehall epithermal gold deposit and most recently, Nexgen’s world class Arrow Uranium deposit in Canada. Robert graduated from the University of Plymouth with a BSc (Hons) in Geology and Computing in 2005. His experience in the Uranium industry comes from 7yrs as an exploration geologist working for Alligator energy in the ARUP.

Uranium provinces and their significance in term of uranium exploration

Abstract

Biography

PhD in geochemistry from Nancy University (1981). During the last 46 years, I have been mainly involved in the research and education on uranium geochemistry and ore deposit genesis. I have been also involved in the research on high-level radioactive waste disposal in granites. I have visited and worked on most of the major uranium deposits types in close relation with mining companies. 260 published scienific papers. IAEA Consultant. 2010 : SEG Thayer Lindsley Lecturer - 2010 : SEG Fellow - 2013 : Prix Barbier Société Géologique France - 2013 : SGA-NEWMONT Gold Medal - 2018 IAGOD Kutina-Smirnoff medal.
