Biography

Ian Hore-Lacy is Senior Advisor with the World Nuclear Association, the international trade association based in London. His retirement role at WNA is to provide back-up for his former role providing a comprehensive, reliable and up to date array of authoritative papers on every aspect of nuclear energy, accessible on the Web: http://www.world-nuclear.org/information-library.aspx Mr Hore-Lacy is a former biology teacher who joined the mining industry as an environmental scientist in 1974. He is author of Nuclear Electricity, the eleventh edition of which was published in 2018 by the World Nuclear University as Nuclear Energy in the 21st Century.

Biography

Jordan Li is a director at Aurizon Group responsible for mining and commercial consulting. Subsidiary Aurizon ASRA Mining works in strategic partnership with Beijing Silk Road Advisory Company in China and Australia China Chamber of Mines and Minerals. His direct and indirect involvement in mining has spanned more than 20 years. Jordan Li had taken on responsibilities at International Base Metals Limited as CEO & GM Commercial, Macquarie Gold Limited as CEO, Zamia Metals Limited as CEO & General Manager. He is a fellow member of AusIMM and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

Developing international radiological risk assessment tools and approaches for Australian arid environments

Biography

Rachel Popelka-Filcoff is an Associate Professor at Flinders University. Her laboratory integrates advanced nuclear and spectroscopic approaches into multidisciplinary projects, including cultural heritage chemistry, nuclear forensics, uranium chemistry and radioecology. Her research includs analysis of radionuclides in the arid Australian environment, as well as analysis of diverse materials for forensic and environmental projects. From 2010-2016 she was an AINSE Senior Research Fellow. Rachel has received awards for her research including the South Australian Tall Poppy of the Year in 2012. She has had her research profiled in several scientific and general media outlets, and radio and television interviews.

Biography

Gabi Schneider joined the Namibian Geological Survey in 1985 and served as its Director from 1996 to 2016. Currently, she is the Executive Director of the Namibian Uranium Institute. Her experience covers economic, exploration, and environmental geology. She is an honorary life member of the Geological Society of Namibia, an honorary fellow of the Geological Society of London, and registered with the Namibian Geoscience Council. She serves on Namibia’s Sustainable Development Advisory Council, and chairs the Board of the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology. She played a leading role in the Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Namibian Uranium Province.

Biography

Mr. Moore is VP of Marketing and Corporate Development for Energy Fuels, overseeing product marketing with close involvement in mergers & acquisitions, investor relations, public relations, and legal. He has been with Energy Fuels for over twelve years. Prior to joining Energy Fuels, Mr. Moore worked in multi-family real estate development, government relations, and private law practice. Mr. Moore is a licensed attorney in the State of Colorado. He holds Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Administration degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a degree in Economics-Government from Claremont McKenna College, California.

Biography

As Project Manager at NERA, Tim has a national focus as a key liaison with the Australian Uranium Industry. Tim supports NERA’s role to create connections to innovate and transform the energy resources sector by promoting collaboration in the energy resources sector and promoting outcomes that are practical, adoptable and can be commercialised. Prior to joining NERA, Tim was Senior Specialist for Environment and Radiation at Cameco Australia, predominately working on the Environmental Approvals for the Yeelirrie and Kintyre Projects.
