Abstract

Biography

Professor Jian Pan received his Master and PhD degree in Mineral Processing and Metallurgy from Central South University in 2000 and 2007, respectively. He joined Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) as a visiting scientist from 2014 to 2015. His research interest mainly focuses on: 1) fundamentals and technologies of iron ore agglomeration; 2) short-process technology of ferrous metallurgy; and 3) comprehensive utilization of low-grade resources and metallurgical wastes. He has published more than 200 journal papers.

Biography

Dr.Matsumura is a chief researcher in Ironmaking Research Laboratory belonging to Nippon Steel Corporation in Japan. In 2005, He obtained Ph.D of Environmental Studies at Tohoku University in Japan . His research region is iron ore sintering process, for high sinter productivity, high quality sinter, and environmental loading reduction. His research career in this field is over 20 years. He also had an experience of technical staff and assistant superintendent of sinter plant in steelworks for 5 years from 1995 to 1999.

Biography

Holds a BSc. (Hons) in Mineral Engineering from the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa, Ghana (UMaT) in 2013. National service personnel in the Mineral Engineering Department of UMaT as a Teaching and Research Assistant from 2013-2014. He worked as a Research Associate & Consulting Member and Thermal Desorption Plant Supervisor at Process Innovations (2011-2016) and Omni Energy (2014-2016), respectively. Currently, a PhD student at the Future Industries Institute & School of Engineering, University of South Australia (UniSA), Australia. He is a member of Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (MAusIMM).

Tejbir Singh graduated in Chemical Engineering from DCR University of Science and Technology, Murthal, India in 2012 and completed his Master degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT Roorkee, India in 2014. He joined University of Newcastle in May 2018 as a PhD student and working on project “Numerical Modelling o Iron Ore Sintering Process”.
