Dr. Zhiyun Ji is the associate professor of Central South University, with his interest in environmentally-friendly and low-carbon iron ore agglomeration. Specifically, revealing the emission and physicochemical profile of multiple pollutants (PM2.5, COx, SOx, NOx, Heavy and alkali metals) during agglomeration process, and elucidating their formation mechanisms and developing efficient controlling techniques. In recent years, Dr. Ji published around 30 papers in international journals aimed at environmental and low-carbon agglomeration.

Strong experience in hydrogeology and environmental science focused on the development of conceptual and numerical flow and transport models of complex groundwater and surface water systems. Applications include groundwater and surface water impacts from open-pit and underground mines, disposal of oil-produced water in infiltration basins, migration of mine waste-rock leachate, migration of the dissolved-phase non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) in the saturated and vadose zones, transport and fate of contaminants in variably saturated flow systems for remedial design, transport and fate of dense liquids in aquifers to assess potential impacts, and contaminant fate and transport in surface water and sediment. Work with clients throughout North America as well as in Australia and Europe.

Darren’s WHSE experience spans >30 years across a wide section of industries including Mining, Manufacturing and Retail. He has worked as an HSE Manager and prior to that as Chief Geologist within the Mining sector in Australia, a consulting Manager in Victoria and is currently working as Principal Consultant with Riskcom based in Melbourne. Darren has particular expertise in the successful creation and development of safety systems at the operating level and understands the WHS needs of both management and front line employees. He is a qualified Principal OHS auditor having audited around Australia and Internationally. In addition, Darren has expertise in the development of the 'Relationship Based Safety' model and is passionate about safety performance and the organisational, cultural and behavioural changes required to achieve sustainable safety performance improvement.

To be confirmed Dr Steedman has over thirty years’ experience in national and international environment service businesses, and government environment and science agencies. He is experienced in applying advanced science and technology products and services, such as geophysical fluid and environmental dynamic modelling and measurement Ray has held executive director positions for private and public companies, servicing mining, oil and gas and defence industries, and government agencies.

Over the last 30 years Ralph has been involved largely in mineral processing research and has managed CSIRO’s iron ore processing research for more than 20 years. He is currently a Chief Research Scientist in CSIRO Mineral Resources and is recognised throughout the Australian and overseas iron ore industries as an expert in iron ore processing and sampling.
