Steve holds a BSc (Eng) degree from the Royal School of Mines, a Masters degree from the University of Queensland in SAG mill modelling and a PhD in power draw modelling of tumbling mills. He has 40 year’s experience in operating, researching and designing comminution circuits. From 1989 to 2000 he was on the staff of the JKMRC, responsible for comminution research. In 2000 he left to start his own consultancy, SMCC Pty Ltd. In 2003 he subsequently formed a further company - SMC Testing Pty Ltd - to commercialise the SMC Test, which he developed.
