Abstract

Biography

Chris graduated from the South Australian Institute of Technology with a Metallurgical Engineering degree in 1990, and was awarded his PhD from the Ian Wark Research Institute of UniSA in 2002. He has worked within the mining industry in a variety of roles ranging from shift foreman at the Teutonic Bore copper/zinc operation to Principal Technologist with Pasminco. He is currently employed by Magotteaux as Manager Minerals Processing Research, and leads their technical efforts investigating the effect of grinding chemistry on downstream processes.

Abstract

Biography

Patrick is a Metallurgist with a Bachelor of Science in Extractive metallurgy. Patrick currently works as a plant metallurgist at BHP’s Leinster Nickel operation. Patrick has been with Nickel West for 7 years starting as a graduate at the Kwinana Nickel refinery. He went on to complete the program at Mt Keith before becoming a plant metallurgist there. After a short period, he went to his current role at Leinster where he has been for the last 3 years. Patrick has a strong background working with the production teams to troubleshoot and achieve targets.

Biography

Mike is currently Head of Minerals Processing for Outotec, South East Asia Pacific. A chartered chemical/process engineer, Mike has extensive design and operations experience at many sites including Cadia and Telfer, specialising in beneficiation technologies. Previously, Mike worked with various engineering companies on front end design as well as developing new technologies in the sustainable energy field.
