Abstract

Biography

Ben is a Lead Process Engineer with Ausenco. He has over 13 years’ experience in the mining industry, initially performing site-based operational, commissioning, metallurgical and project roles, gaining exposure to a range of unit processes, management of process plants, laboratories and capital projects. Ben subsequently moved to the engineering consulting industry where he has been involved in a number of projects across a range of commodities from scoping study stage through to commissioning and operation in Australia, Tanzania, Thailand, Kenya, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Brazil.

Biography

Alex completed his undergraduate degree in Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering at the University of British Columbia and is currently working towards a technical master’s degree developing an innovative gravity separation technology. Since joining the Sepro group in 2013, Alex has managed a wide array of process development projects for clients across the globe. His areas of expertise include enhanced gravity concentration techniques, metallurgical testing, technology development, commissioning and circuit optimization.

Biography

Craig is a graduate of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mineral Resource Engineering. He started his career with Barrick Gold Corporation in Toronto, Ontario with the Capital Projects department. He then went to the Pueblo Viejo project in Dominican Republic for construction, commissioning, ramp up and operation. After 6 years with Barrick Gold Corporation, he left to join Newmont with the construction, commissioning and operation of the Merian Project in Suriname as a Senior Metallurgist. Shortly after, Craig joined Atlantic Gold corporation as Chief Metallurgist and lead the project through design, construction, commission, operation and now is managing the metallurgy for the Touquoy operation as well as the design for 15 Mile Stream Project. Craig is a member of the Canadian Mineral Processors (CMP) which is a technical society within the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum. He is the Chair of the CMP of the Atlantic Canadia Branch.

Biography

Principal Research Scientist in CSIRO Mineral Resources. Has been with CSIRO for over fifteen years leading research into the extraction of gold and other precious metals from ores. Has over 20 years experience in gold hydrometallurgy research and process optimisation, including: • Cyanidation of copper-gold ores and concentrates and the impact of sulfide minerals. • Cyanide analysis, deportment and speciation. • Cyanide destruction and recycle processes. Major research focus recently has been the development of thiosulfate based processes with a demonstration plant operating at Menzies.
