New insights into the Central Gawler Gold Province, SA

3:55 PM - 4:15 PM

Abstract

Biography

A principal geologist with over 30 years’ experience in the mineral exploration industry. He has spent time working in both the public and private sectors, mainly in the Northern Territory and South Australia. He has focused on orogenic gold and magmatic sulphide mineralisation. In the early 1990’s, he lead the exploration team that discovered the world class Callie Gold Mine in the Tanami, Northern Territory. He completed a PhD on SEDEX mineralisation in the Kanmantoo Group of South Australia. Recently, as Exploration Manager, he contributed to the successful floating of Musgrave Minerals on the ASX (2011). The geophysical characteristics of orogenic gold systems and implications for exploration

4:35 PM - 4:55 PM

Abstract

Biography

Mike Dentith is Prof of Geophysics at the University of Western Australia and a researcher affiliated with the Centre for Exploration Targeting. His research interests include the geophysical responses of mineral systems, hard rock petrophysics and deep penetrating geophysical methods applied to mineral exploration. He is co-author of the textbook ‘Geophysics for the Mineral Exploration Geoscientist’ published by Cambridge University Press and has edited two volumes of case histories on the geophysical characteristics of mineral deposits in Western and South Australia.
