Potential of the dense media cyclone for gold ore preconcentration

10:50 AM - 11:10 AM

Abstract

Biography

Ms Ndagha Patience Mkandawire is a PhD student at Curtin University (Western Australia School of Mines: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering). Her research topic targets exploring the potential of using the dense medium cyclone for gold ore preconcentration. The study is focused on the use of computational fluid dynamics coupled with discrete element method simulations to develop a model(s) that improves the understanding and applicability of existing dense medium cyclone empirical models for gold ore preconcentration. Ndagha graduated with a Master of Engineering Science in Metallurgy in 2017 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2013.
