Grinding circuit evolution

10:50 AM - 11:10 AM

Abstract

Biography

With 37 years of experience, the majority of which has been spent operating, optimising and designing grinding circuits. The author is known for implementing the first reduced row SAG mill liner design and combining it with the use of 152mm grinding balls to improve throughput rate in the absence of a pebble crushing circuit, which took place 20 years ago. This paper presents the lessons learnt over the ensuing 20 years and identifies opportunities for improving the efficiency of a SAG mill based grinding circuit.
