Biography

Noaman BOUHLALI is a Ph.D. student at the Geology & Sustainable Mining Institute (GSMI-UM6P), whose research topic is " Integrated Simulation-Based Evaluation of Mining Strategies for Operational Efficiency and Waste Management" He holds a State Mining Engineer Diploma from the National School of Mines in Rabat, a Master’s Degree in Mineral Resource Prospecting and Valorization, a Bachelor's Degree focusing on Mineral Resources and Quarries from the Faculty of Science and Technology in Settat, and a Specialized Mining Technician Diploma from the Marrakech Institute of Mines. His research interests include Resource and Reserve Estimation, Mine Design and Scheduling, Mine Optimizations, Mining Technology, Bulk Materials Handling, Mine Waste Management, Mining Scenario Planning and Simulation, Progressive Reclamation, Environmental Impact, and Sustainability.

Biography

Yanyan Mu is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Stochastic Mine Planning Laboratory within the Department of Mining and Materials Engineering at McGill University. He hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering from McGill University, providing a rigorous mathematical foundation for their work in advanced computational modelling. His research is positioned at the critical intersection of generative machine learning and geostatistics, with specialized expertise in Restricted Boltzmann Machines (RBMs), Variational Autoencoders (VAEs), and Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) for orebody simulation.
