Amit Suchak is a mining professional with over 17 years of experience across technical, operational, and strategic roles within BHP. He currently works as a Principal Mining Engineer in the Resource Centre of Excellence where he performs technical assurance activities on resource and reserve reporting across all BHP operations. His work focuses on providing guidance to Competent Persons (CPs) and Qualified Persons (QPs) to ensure high‑quality public declarations.
Amit’s background covers mine planning from Life‑of‑Asset studies through tactical planning, with exposure across multiple commodities and mining methods. He has contributed to a range of major and minor projects, developing strong capability in technical assurance, mine optimisation, and integrated planning across diverse mining environments.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from India, a Master of Mining Engineering from the Western Australian School of Mines, and a First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate for Western Australia.
