Biography

Jake brings over 15 years of deep, hands-on experience across the resources sector, spanning operational, maintenance, corporate, consulting, and project management roles. As a Director in KPMG’s Mining Operations Advisory team, Jake partners with leading mining companies across Australia and globally to drive digital transformation, operational excellence, and the future of autonomous mining. At KPMG, Jake has led engagements across multiple commodities, helping clients shape and implement their vision for data-driven operations, integrated planning, and technology-enabled productivity. His work bridges the gap between strategy and execution - translating digital ambition into operational reality. Prior to joining KPMG, Jake worked as a Mechatronics Engineer at Rio Tinto’s Remote Operations Centre, where he interfaced with autonomous fleets, fixed plant, rail, and port systems. He also held project and shutdown management roles at Monadelphous, focused on systems improvement and productivity uplift. Jake is passionate about the synergy between technology providers and consulting firms in enabling a future-ready mining industry—where innovation meets operational impact.

Biography

Ekin Eraydin is the founder and CEO of MineGuard Solutions Pty Ltd (MineGuard AI), an Australian company developing AI-enabled safety tools for incident investigations, critical control management and SHMS assurance. He has more than 15 years’ operational leadership experience across Queensland and New South Wales open-cut coal operations, including senior roles leading technical services and safety improvement programs. Ekin holds an MBA from the University of Queensland and works with site teams to strengthen investigation defensibility, improve learning transfer, and lift critical control verification quality through human-centred design and practical analytics. Cem Caglar is a co-founder and engineering lead at MineGuard Solutions Pty Ltd (MineGuard AI), responsible for product architecture and deployment of AI-assisted workflows that support investigation quality, critical risk management and SHMS assurance. His work focuses on building secure, auditable systems that convert unstructured evidence and site standards into structured outputs that enable traceable decision-making and continuous improvement. Cem collaborates with mine site and corporate teams to design user-centred features, implement practical guardrails, and integrate systems to reduce administrative burden while improving consistency and governance.

Kausik Dasgupta is General Manager – Product Management at MST Global, bringing over 21 years of experience across the mining equipment, technology and services (METS), medical devices, and rail industries. He is an accomplished engineering leader with a strong track record in product development, R&D management, and leading cross-functional, multicultural teams. Throughout his career, Kausik has successfully delivered complex hardware and software programs, built high-performing engineering teams, and partnered closely with executive leadership to align technology strategy with business objectives. Prior to MST Global, he held senior R&D leadership roles at Hexagon Mining and Blast Movement Technologies, where he led global teams, managed IP development, and drove innovation across drill and blast solutions. With deep expertise in engineering management and electronics, Kausik combines strategic thinking with hands-on technical insight to deliver impactful, customer-focused products that support operational excellence in mining and beyond.

He is passionate about slope design and the application of geomechanics principles to enhance mine plans and achieve the best possible outcomes. Throughout his career, Alex has worked with major mining companies including Glencore, Rio Tinto, and Vale. He now currently holds the position of Group Manager and Principal Geotechnical Engineer at Cartledge Mining and Geomechanics, based in Brisbane, Australia
