Mr. Naidoo began his career as a Research Engineer at the CSIR’s Mining Division, where he spent over five years working on underground support design, Mine Health and Safety Council research, and technology driven initiatives. His contributions earned him a merit award for successful project delivery. He joined Joy Mining Machinery as a Senior Engineer, leading elements of a hard rock cutting machine project and securing a design patent for its rock breaking system. He later served as Lead Engineer at Thyssenkrupp, managing multi million rand projects, including the first vertical lime kiln in Zambia. At Fermel, he became Engineering Compliance Manager, responsible for mining vehicle certification and design governance, and won the first phase of the Mandela Mining Precinct’s Isidingo Drill Challenge for innovation. He joined Bosch Projects, contributing to major sugar and industrial design projects, including one of the world’s largest rotary cascade sugar dryers. He supported a major expansion at Tronox Mineral Sands and became Principal Specialist for Minerals Council’s MOSH team before being appointed Head of Safety and Sustainable Development. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, is a registered Professional Engineer, and has further qualifications in management, finance, project management, and value engineering.

For the last 30 years Roger has been a Health and Safety consultant and expert witness. Training has been provided to all levels of management, medical staff and the workforce in the following industry sectors: • Construction • Mining • Agricultural • Forestry • Fishing • Manufacturing • Health Training has covered the following subjects: • Values-based OH&S activity • Damaging Energy Concepts • Predictive techniques for serious personal damage • Problem solving methodologies • The size and nature of the OH&S problem • Incident investigation • Ergonomics, human factors and perceptions • Personal Damage arising from manual tasks, falls of people, vehicles, machinery, electricity, chemicals, etc. OH&S auditing of major mining and construction facilities has been a regular aspect of Roger’s work. Several thousand incidents involving fatal and non-fatal permanent damage have been investigated over 30+ years (nationally and internationally).

Sarah Jones is the Founder and Principal of Harp Integrity Solutions, a consultancy specialising in integrity systems, investigations, psychosocial risk and organisational culture. She has more than twenty years of senior executive experience in the global mining and industrial sectors, with a career focused on organisational conduct, cultural reform and the governance of safety and integrity systems. Sarah most recently served as Chief Business Conduct Officer at Rio Tinto, where she led the redesign of organisational responses to sexual harassment, racism, and bullying and harassment, strengthened reporting pathways and investigations practice, uplifted leadership capability, and delivered a global support service for individuals impacted by harmful and disrespectful behaviour. Prior to this, she was Head of Ethics & Investigations at BHP, overseeing global investigations and behavioural standards and conceptualising a global support service for individuals impacted by sexual harassment. She previously served as Global Counsel for Safety, Health, Environment and Security at Orica. A qualified lawyer with a background in science, her work strengthens organisational responses to complex conduct and cultural challenges so that organisations and their people are safe and able to thrive.

Becky Felstead is a mental health speaker, culture advisor and host of The Resource Podcast, a platform built to help people talk about what they were never taught to talk about. With more than six years working across mining and FIFO, Becky has delivered over 250 onsite sessions, listening to thousands of workers share the stories they usually keep quiet. That lived experience is the heart of her work. Before stepping into culture and wellbeing, Becky was a photojournalist who learned to see people beneath the surface. She has been first on the scene of tragedy, witnessed the realities families carry, and understands the weight workers bring to the gate long before a shift begins. Her own personal history shaped her commitment to psychological safety, human-centred leadership and conversations that steady people in a world that feels increasingly heavy.
