Ahmet Aykut Yazici is an experienced mining industry professional with extensive experience in asset management, project management, mechanical engineering, and health, safety, and environmental practices. He currently serves as a maintenance manager at Çayeli Bakır İşletmeleri A.Ş., where he plays a pivotal role in overseeing maintenance operations for fixed plants and mobile equipment. Over more than 15 years of industry experience, Ahmet has held various leadership and technical roles, including Processing Plant Manager, Mobile Equipment Maintenance Superintendent, Project Superintendent, and Project Engineer, contributing to both operational excellence and capital project delivery. Fluent in Turkish and English, Ahmet graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from Black Sea Technical University. He has completed multiple industry certifications related to maintenance and project management, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and operational excellence.

Professor Trevor Kilpatrick is Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of MX3 Diagnostics, a health technology company delivering innovative saliva-based hydration testing for high-risk workplaces. With a distinguished career in neurology and translational research, he brings scientific rigor to developing tools that improve worker safety, reduce heat stress risk, and support evidence-based occupational health programs.

Simon is an expert in maintenance welding, metallurgy, asset management, safety and training. He has a Bachelor of Materials Engineering and a Cert IV in Training and Assessment. Together with Eddy Constable, Simon founded WQMS to support the mining industry for the specific requirements in maintenance welding. His mission is to leave a positive legacy by using a first principles approach to address the existing shortcomings, providing systems and sharing knowledge that will benefit industry now and for generations to come.

Damione Wright is the Managing Director – Asia Pacific for Mechanix Wear, a global leader in hand protection and performance PPE. With over 20 years of international leadership experience across consumer, commercial, and industrial sectors, Damione has led business growth, market expansion, and team development across Australia, Asia, Europe and emerging markets. In his role, Damione works closely with utilities, mining, construction, manufacturing, and government organisations to improve worker protection outcomes through better PPE system design, task-fit solutions, and practical application in high-risk environments. His work focuses on bridging the gap between compliance, human behaviour, and real-world task performance. Damione brings a pragmatic, field-informed perspective to occupational health and safety, drawing on frontline experience, customer collaboration, and behavioural insights to help safety leaders achieve sustained PPE adoption without compromising productivity or worker identity. At the OHS Leaders Summit, Damione will explore PPE use through a behavioural science lens, examining why gloves are worn—or removed—and what safety leaders can do to design systems that truly work for people at work.

Yhana Lanwin LLB, BCom, GAICD, MAusIMM is a strategic consultant and complex deployment leader specialising in applied behavioural economics and co-design. She is founder of Sans Prejudice Solutions and has led large organisational and technology change programs across resources, manufacturing, education and government. Yhana began her career designing geospatial data systems for the energy sector and extended her technical practice into industrial automation across mining and rail, leading strategy and delivery for maintenance and reliability systems, productivity innovation and functional safety. She founded Sans Prejudice Solutions in 2023 to connect human behaviour and decision biases with technology and performance outcomes. Yhana’s multi-disciplinary, evidence-led methodologies combine participatory co-design, hypothesis testing and quantitative and qualitative evaluation. She was awarded Best Technical Paper at the AusIMM 2024 International Mine Health and Safety Conference for her research into behavioural economics and functional safety in autonomous operations, as well as best presentation at the 2024 Future Mining conference for her analysis of manufacturing systems history. In addition to senior leadership roles in the resources sector, she has a strong track record of designing and scaling complex systems change.
