Biography

Yves Van Haarlem leads the X-ray Technology Group at CSIRO Mineral Resources. With over 15 years of experience developing advanced analysers, Yves began his career in particle physics before applying his expertise to the mining industry. He specialises in real-time ore characterisation, developing X-ray and nuclear-based technologies, from X-ray fluorescence to activation techniques, for on-belt and in-slurry applications.

Biography

Garry Noble is the Senior Product Applications Specialist for the PGNAA product line at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Garry has over 25 years’ experience developing PGNAA technology and specialising in delivering process control applications and solutions incorporating PGNAA analyzers. He has a Bachelor of Science (BSc (Physics)) from the Flinders University of South Australia. He worked from 2000 to 2007 at Scantech International as an Applications Engineer. He was a key member of the PGNAA team, responsible for calibration, product development and service. In 2008 Garry joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as an R&D Physicist. Over the past 18 years he has continued to develop his expertise in PGNAA and PFTNA, holding lead roles in calibration, product development and technical support. In his current role as Senior Product Applications Specialist, his focus is on identifying and delivering process control solutions to customers, incorporating Thermo Fisher Scientific’s cross belt and slurry PGNAA and PFTNA analysers.

Biography

PhD in mineral processing with emphasis in characterization, surface chemistry, flotation and tailings treatment. Former researcher and process development specialist on for Vale Institute of Technology, creating innovative projects in partnership with several universities, research centers and Vale operations. Currently dedicated to Clariant’s Tailings Management Program to design specific technology and chemical solutions for tailings flotation, magnetic separation, dewatering and rheology modification.

Biography

Oliver Davies is the Managing Director of Sky Metals Limited, an ASX-listed company focused on critical mineral projects in New South Wales. He joined Sky Metals in 2019 as a geologist, progressing through roles as Exploration Manager and CEO before being appointed Managing Director in September 2024. Mr Davies brings extensive experience in mineral exploration and operations, having previously held key roles at Evolution Mining and Alkane Resources across NSW and Queensland. His work has contributed to several significant discoveries, including the expansion of the Lake Cowal gold resource and regional successes at Tomingley and Boda.
