Paweł Stefaniak received the M.Sc. degree in Geoinformatics (2011), the D.Sc. degrees in Mining Transport (2016) and the post-doctoral degree in mining sciences (2023) from Faculty of Mining Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. In 2014, he started working for KGHM Cuprum R&D Centre Ltd as a Business Analyst in area of analytical applications in the mining industry, especially mining machinery and processes monitoring, predictive maintenance, energy efficiency, decision support system and the application of IoT and robotics solutions. Since 2012 he serves as head of the System Analytics Department in KGHM Cuprum R&D Centre Ltd. He is author of more than 100 works with over 20 published in leading journals and indexed conference proceedings.

Dr Greg You is a Senior Lecturer in mining engineering at Federation University and a Stream Leader on Stable Landforms and Mine Rehabilitation research. He specializes in geotechnical and geoenvironmental effects of mining, groundwater extraction, and landfill operations and mine planning, design and optimization. He published a book - Mining Project Value Optimization with Springer in 2024, co-authored two Chinese geomebrane standards for landfills (2006, 2008), and completed a CRC TiME project as a chief investigator in 2022, which is on mine closure planning optimization integrating open pit, waste dump and tailing dam. He supervised five PhD students to completion. He is adept at collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and delivering high impact outcomes to increase safety and productivity. He has published 82 research papers.
Before joining Federation University Australia in 2006, Greg was the founding Technical Manager of the Asia/Pacific Region at GSE Lining Technology Co. Ltd. He established the technical department to support geosynthetics application in containment projects, leading to the production expansion, advancing geomembrane standards for landfills in China, and effective stakeholder education and relationship-building through over 60 technical presentations to engage consultants, regulatory bodies, and industry partners across the Asia/Pacific region.

Professor Chris Aldrich holds a Chair in Process Systems Engineering in the Western Australian School of Mines at Curtin University in Australia. In addition, he is an Extraordinary Professor at Stellenbosch University in South Africa and an Honorary Professor at the University of Queensland in Australia. His core expertise is in process automation in the mining and metallurgical process industries, with a strong focus on data analytics and machine learning.
Earlier in his career, he was a recipient of among other the British Association (S2A3) Silver Medal and President’s Award of the Foundation of Research and Development (FRD) in South Africa for international recognition of his research.
Professor Aldrich serves on the editorial boards of several journals. He is among other a Chief Investigator and Executive Committee member of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Enabling Eco-Efficient Beneficiation of Minerals, as well as the ARC Industrial Transformation & Training Centre for Green Chemistry in Manufactur

Dr. Amit Kumar Gorai currently working as a Professor and Head in the Department of Mining Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India. Prior to join at NIT Rourkela, Dr. Gorai had worked at Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Ranchi for over 7 years in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He has published over 70 research articles in the area of machine learning applications for quality monitoring of ores/coal, remote sensing applications for environmental management in mines, etc. Dr. Gorai has also written one guide book, 'A Complete Guide for Mining Engineers', one edited book, 'Sustainable Mining Practices', and one text book, 'Optimization techniques and their applications to mine systems'.
Dr. Gorai has obtained his Ph.D. from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad (Formerly, Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad) India. Dr. Gorai is the recipient of Endeavour Executive Fellowship from Australian Government for working at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, and Raman Postdoctoral Fellowship from UGC, New Delhi for working at JSU, MS, USA. He has executed several sponsored research projects in the field of environmental monitoring and management in mines. His current research areas are systems optimization, machine learning, GIS and Remote Sensing.
