Chemical sensors: An innovative tool for detecting organic pollutants produced in heavy industries
10:55 AM - 11:05 AMBiography
Sasha Edwards is a third year undergraduate student at Monash University. She studies a bachelor of Science Advanced Research with a major in chemistry and earth science. For her excellence in chemistry Sasha has received three Rowe Scientific Foundation Prizes. Sasha is the operations lead for Sustainable Water Monash, an engineering team focused on solving water security challenges and participates in WaterWatch at her local reserve.
After completing an internship at RioTinto, the complexities of environmental monitoring in heavy industries revealed themselves. Sasha’s research focuses to mitigate this by developing new ways to detect environmental pollutants through chemical sensors.
