Biography

Craig obtained a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering at the University of South Australia in 1989 and completed a PhD at Queensland University in 2021. From 1990, Craig has worked in a variety of engineering and management roles for several underground and surface mining operations in Australia. He held the position of Mine Manager from 1997 to 2007 and in 2008 founded “Chasm Consulting” to develop and support Ventsim software. Howden acquired the company in 2017, and he currently works as an independent ventilation consultant for Minware.

Biography

Bernard Viviers, born in Pretoria, South Africa, in 1993, holds a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pretoria. He joined Air Blow Fans in 2020 and currently serves as the head of computer engineering. He is responsible for fan performance measurements, instrumentation, condition monitoring, remote monitoring, and active balancing systems. Bernard is actively involved in research and development projects, including a recent collaboration with two students from the University of Pretoria. This project focuses on vibration-based monitoring methods for fault detection in fan systems and a hybrid condition monitoring approach using blade tip timing and casing pressure measurement. Recently married, Bernard enjoys playing golf and woodworking in his leisure time.
