Biography

Kate Brown Requist is a doctoral candidate in the University of Arizona’s Department of Mining and Geological Engineering. She additionally serves as a mine engineer and industrial hygienist at the San Xavier Underground Mining Laboratory. Mining engineer by training turned health researcher, Kate’s research interests include mine ventilation and occupational, community and environmental health as it pertains to the mining industry. Her current work under the direction of Prof. Moe Momayez investigates the development of statistical methods for the assessment of airborne contamination fate and transport in underground mines. Kate is well versed in the use of applied mathematics and statistics for exposure assessment and teaches in topics of mine ventilation, computer programming, and engineering mechanics.

Biography

Dr. Jianliang Gao, a second level professor at Henan polytechnic University,graduated with a PhD from Kyushu University in Japan, dean of the School of Safety Science and Engineering at Henan University of Technology from 2016-2023, member of the Safety Science and Engineering Discipline Evaluation Group of the 8th the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, Vice Chairman of the Safety Science and Engineering Education Guidance Committee of the National Ministry of Education, member of the National Safety Production Expert Group, and an expert enjoying the State Council Government Special Allowance. Leader of the Innovation Team for "Coal Rock Gas Composite Power Disaster Prevention and Control" of the National Ministry of Education, and leader of the A-level characteristic backbone discipline group for safety and emergency management in Henan Province. Engaged in long-term teaching and research work in mining safety from 1982,won one second prize for national teaching achievements, one second prize for national scientific and technological progress, three first prizes and four second prizes for science and technology of provincial and ministerial level .
