Rowena was appointed ASM Managing Director in March 2023 and had been Chief Executive Officer since July 2022. Rowena joined ASM in July 2021 as Chief Operating Officer. She has over 30 years experience in the mining and minerals processing sector, including in a range of senior roles in strategy, operations and commercial. Prior to joining ASM, Rowena was Chief Sustainability Officer at South32, accountable for sustainability strategy, risk management and HSE business processes. Other past roles include Vice President Supply at South32, General Manager BHP’s Kwinana Nickel Refinery, and operational leadership roles within Rio Tinto’s aluminium smelting business.

Mark Noppé is a geoscientist with extensive (+35 years) mining industry and geoscience consulting experience in resource project development and effective operational performance. Prior to joining The University in late 2022 Mark was the MD of SRK Consulting Australasia and group chair of the SRK global consulting group. He has worked on, reviewed and advised across a variety of project development stages and commodities in a range of geological, mining, and geographical settings. He is an AusIMM director (2021–2023) and mentors across a variety of national and international programs.

Philippa Sjoquist is a multidisciplinary professional with more than 17 years of experience in mining and metals, including site-based operations and global corporate roles. She is an advocate for low-intensity materials production, responsible resource management and has a keen interest in the circular economy.
Philippa is currently the Director and Chair of AusIMM's ESG Advisory Council, and the co-chair of the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) Circular economy working group.
Philippa has a Bachelor of Environmental Management, a Masters of International Environmental Law and an MBA that combines the business of mining with advancements in energy productivity. She is a Graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course.

Experienced life cycle assessment practitioner providing qualitative and quantitative cradle-to-cradle life cycle assessments (LCA) according to the ISO14040:2006, 14044:2006 and ISO 14067 standards for measuring the environmental impacts of critical metals. Experienced in providing detailed LCAs for lithium, base metals, REE, and graphite materials and Li-ion battery cell/pack manufacturing and recycling. Supported major battery manufacturers and OEMs in providing carbon footprint reports in line with the EU battery regulations.

Harry Fisher is a Senior Consultant in Benchmark's Consultancy division, supporting clients with market analysis and strategic decisions throughout the lithium-ion value chain, with a particular focus on nickel and cobalt. Harry has a background in geology and 8 years of experience in commodity markets in both consultancy and analytical roles, primarily focused on the battery supply chain.

Joe has held senior management roles with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Five Oceans Asset Management, Bankers Trust, and Deutsche Bank. He has managed operational reviews and strategic option assessments across mining, processing, railway, and port facilities throughout Australia, North America, and Europe. In addition, Joe has worked in equities and investment research, focused on mining, minerals processing, energy storage, and battery technologies. Joe has managed investments in the global resources and minerals processing industries, including the management of turnaround projects supporting corporate targets, mergers, and divestment activities.

Yue Jin is part of the founding team and leadership at Circulor, the leader in supply chain traceability; and is Vice President of Strategic Accounts and responsible for key customer relationships and Circulor’s APAC region. His other responsibilities have included leading sales and business development, product and customer implementation. He has worked with key customers from mining, through the midstream and to OEM manufacturers, to use its end-to-end supply chain traceability technology to reduce risk and meet their ESG, compliance and sustainability goals. Yue Jin has worked on a range of innovative technology initiatives across global supply chains for over 25 years in Shell, Sony, Compaq, 3Com and in the UK Public Sector with PA Consulting and Procserve.
