This workshop aims at providing some insights into practical considerations for designing operations for new technologies.
The mine technology workshop will be aimed at equipping students and young mining professionals with an understanding of important considerations, principles, practises and rules of thumb related to underground mine automation and electrification. The workshop cover principles of: design requirements for automation in comparison to conventional mining, infrastructure requirements for automation; design requirements for electrification vs diesel operations; mine planning consideration for electrification; risk management using mine technology.
This will be an interactive workshop and will cover practical applications of key concepts and feature case studies and examples from underground operations.
