This workshop aims at providing some insights into practical drill and blast design for underground stoping operations. The drill & blast workshop will be aimed at equipping students and young mining professionals with an understanding of important considerations, principles, practises and rules of thumb related to underground Drill and Blast Design. The workshop will focus mainly on stoping operations and cover principles of economical stope design; quality assurance and quality control; blast timing; drilling and blasting equipment, products and consumables; drilling setups for achievable drill designs; considerations for hanging and footwall stability; and raise firings. This will be an interactive workshop and will cover practical applications of key concepts and feature case studies and examples from underground operations.
