Biography

David is Chief Geologist for Stratum a Toronto based Machine Learning company provide geoscientific leadership. He graduated from the RSM, Imperial College, London, having over 35 years of mineral exploration experience, primarily focused on the discovery of world-class Cu &/or Au deposits. His formative years were spent exploring throughout Papua New Guinea, before bring my experience to bear in Australasia, East & SE Asia, central Europe, and British Columbia. He has held several senior technical and management exploration roles for Freeport-McMoRan, Phelps Dodge, BHP Billiton, Billiton, and Gencor. A highlight of his career was being part of Billiton’s generative exploration team that discovered Prominent Hill, South Australia.

Biography

Until recently Craig led Anglo American’s Mine Geology and Reconciliation team globally. He now is the Owner/Operator of Reconciliation & Ore Control Knowledge Services (ROCKS). While at Anglo Craig specifically focused on developing and delivering operational excellence in Mining Geosciences as well as facilitating a multidisciplinary team to deliver mine site focused continuous improvement via reconciliation along the entire mining value chain. Prior to joining Anglo American Craig spent 18 years consulting internationally for Snowden Mining Industry Consultants including holding senior positions as General Manager of the Technologies Division and 5 years as Snowden’s CEO. His experience spans the globe with projects throughout Africa, Asia, Canada, South America, Europe and Australia. He has authored or co-authored a number of papers on the subject of Mining Reconciliation and spoken at numerous conferences and events on a broad range of topics from Mining Asset Valuation through to Mine Value Chain Reconciliation. He continues to function as an industry ambassador and thought leader in Mining Geology.
