Dr Grocott is an accomplished executive in the mining and mineral processing sector with nearly 40 years of international experience.
Stephen was Chief Technical Development Officer at Clean TeQ Holdings Limited accountable for all technical and process development. He also supported technical marketing, due diligence and project funding for the A$2Billion Sunrise Ni-Co-Sc Project in NSW. Stephen’s exposure to EV and battery producers combined with his world-class expertise in process and development for minerals processing andbattery chemicals underpins the progress of the company.

Stephen Durkin is CEO of AusIMM, the peak body and trusted voice for professionals working in the resources sector. Before joining AusIMM, Stephen was CEO of Engineers Australia (EA) for five years. Stephen's leadership focuses on building high performance organisations by fostering an innovative culture and supporting teams to collaborate and thrive. At both AusIMM and EA, Stephen has led transformations of these long-standing associations to be more contemporary and financially sustainable, with a stronger external brand.
Prior to leading professional associations, Stephen was at National Australia Bank for 15 years in a number of senior executive roles including as State Manager, Retail Bank NSW/ACT. He holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours). Stephen has extensive experience in business and association management, and possesses highly regarded skills in government, media and community relations.

The Hon Madeleine King MP would be known to many of you.
Born and raised here in WA growing up in Shoalwater
A working family with resources in her veins, her father worked at BP’s Kwinana oil refinery.
Since 2016 she has been the federal member for Brand following in the footsteps of great leaders like Kim Beazley and Gary Gray.
In 2019, she was promoted to the role of Shadow Minister for Trade.
Last year in 2022, after the election, she was promoted to the roles of Minister for Resources; and Minister for Northern Australia.

Marnie Finlayson was appointed Managing Director of Rio Tinto’s Battery Materials business in 2021, responsible for building Rio Tinto’s battery materials portfolio through targeted investments in assets, technology and partnerships.
Prior to this appointment Marnie was Managing Director of Rio Tinto Borates & Lithium responsible for Rio Tinto’s Borates operations in California and Europe as well as the Jadar lithium project in western Serbia.
Marnie has deep mining experience and has held a number of senior leadership and operational roles with Rio Tinto across salt, iron ore, diamonds, base metals and coal, including:
General Manager of Rio Tinto’s subsidiary in Serbia, Rio Sava Exploration, in charge of the Jadar lithium project
General Manager Operations - Dampier Salt Limited
General Manager – Port Maintenance with Rio Tinto Iron Ore
Marnie graduated from the Kalgoorlie School of Mines in 1997 as a minerals processing engineer. She worked all around regional Australia and gained her first management role at the age of 30 with Anglo American.
Marnie is passionate about mining, about mining making a difference, and about leadership in the field. She is married, has two children and lives in Perth.

Rebecca Tomkinson joined the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA – the State’s peak advocacy body for the mining and resources sector - in August 2022 as Chief Executive Officer.
Rebecca’s vision includes continuing to develop the capacity of the CME team and to grow public awareness of the vital contribution WA’s mining and resources sector makes to communities and economies around the State and across Australia. She is particularly interested in championing the critical minerals that are mined here in WA that will be essential in achieving net zero.
Rebecca brings strong strategic and executive experience from the private and not-for-profit sectors, is deeply committed to the development of regional WA (where she was born and raised) and is actively involved in building community and business capability.
She is a Board member of Infrastructure WA, Crown and Perth USAsia Centre.
Rebecca holds qualifications in community development, public policy and social impact.
