Biography

Mr Walsh is a resources industry executive, mining engineer and geophysicist with more than 30 years’ experience working for mining and exploration companies and investment banks in mining related roles. Joe joined Lepidico as Managing Director in 2016. Prior to this he was the General Manager Corporate Development with PanAust and was instrumental in its evolution from an explorer in 2004 to a US$2+billion, ASX 100 multi-mine copper and gold company. Joe has extensive equity market experience and has been involved with the technical and economic evaluation of many mining assets and companies around the world.

Biography

Dr Dongmei Liu received her PhD in Chemical Engineering from The University of Newcastle, Australia in 2012. As a Research Scientist at CSIRO, she is currently leading a crucial research project focused on developing an innovative process for lithium metal production. Dr Liu has 20-year experience in complex metallurgical processes at both high and low temperatures through her work in universities, research institutes, and lithium battery material industry. Her research interests revolve around exploring and optimising innovative processes and techniques to shape the landscape of energy materials and play a pivotal role in paving the way towards a cleaner and more efficient energy sector. Her areas of expertise extend to critical minerals, advanced battery materials, as well as iron and steelmaking.

Mike is Head of Lithium at Neometals. His responsibilities include the development and commercialization of Neometals’ joint development of the Estarreja Lithium Refinery with Bondalti Chemicals and development of the ELi processing technology for licensing. Mike has a degree in Metallurgy and nearly 30 years’ experience in lithium covering the development of the global chemical and technical spodumene market, hard rock and brine lithium projects in Australia, China, South America and Canada.

Biography

Rowena was educated in the UK, with a Ph.D in Economic Geology from the University of Cardiff, and migrated to the sunny shores of Australia after completing a three year post-doctoral study on actively forming seafloor black-smoker systems. She now has over 25 years of experience in the exploration and mining industry in Australia and overseas, and specialises in petrography, textural interpretation and micro-analysis. Rowena has worked on most mineral systems including VHMS, sediment-hosted, epithermal, porphyry, IOCG, skarns, pegmatites, REE's and intrusion-related gold deposits. During her mixed academic, industry and consulting career, she has presented papers at over 30 conferences, has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and contributed to several technical books. She also volunteers on several professional committees.

Biography

Max is an experienced engineering and project development professional with a strong track record of delivering positive financial outcomes for the organisations in which he is responsible for. Throughout his career he has held Business Development, General Management, and Managing Director positions with various engineering, construction, and mining services companies. His domain specific expertise includes Lithium, Gold, Rare Earths, and Iron Ore. In his role as Director, Business Development, Minerals and Metals, Max oversees the strategic development, planning, negotiation, and execution of Wood’s implementation contracts throughout APAC, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
