Biography

Braden is the Executive for Continuous Improvement for Mincor Resources NL, driving business improvement and leading sustainability efforts across the company. Most recently, Braden was Asia-Pacific leader for Chemicals at Baker Hughes, overseeing the strategic growth of the chemicals business in the energy transition, water, and mining sectors, as well as all operations in the region. Previously he led the transformation of the global chemicals business through digital and automation, driving the carbon reduction strategy for chemicals. He also led the global chemicals technical support and digital organizations. Braden has 19 years of experience working around the world in the Energy, Mining and Chemicals industries and has held various roles for Smiths PLC & Baker Hughes across different product lines, in sales, operations and business management positions, including running all Operations Support for North America and being part of the GE integration team. He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in environmental science from Nottingham University, a PhD in environmental science from Exeter University, and an MBA from the University of Western Australia. He has authored numerous scientific and leadership papers, and actively participates in industry bodies such as the Energy Institute and is a member of AusIMM.

Biography

Dr Chris Griffith is the Senior Process Chemist and Principal Consultant within the ANSTO Minerals business unit. His role encompasses a wide range of activities in lithium, rare earth, uranium, zirconium / niobium and vanadium processing, including desktop assessment of prospective projects, flowsheet selection and definition, radioactivity deportment/management and continuous piloting for demonstration and design purposes. Over a 23 year career, Chris has been involved in research and technology development in the nuclear industry, and process development for the mining and minerals processing industries. Chris has been with ANSTO Minerals since 2008 and since then has led, or contributed to, the process development and piloting efforts on numerous Australia and overseas critical minerals projects and operations. Chris is the Program Sponsor for “High Purity Silica Program” at ANSTO which is part of the National Critical Minerals R&D Hub, a collaboration with CSIRO and GeoSciences Australia and the Department of Industry, Science and Resources.

Biography

John is a minerals industry strategist, economist, futurist, and geologist. He is currently finishing a PhD using scenario planning to investigate the future of mining and exploration at the Centre for Exploration Targeting, The University of Western Australia. He also works as a Strategist for MinEx Consulting and as Director of Greenfields Research, as well as teaching on the MBA Programme at UWA and at the Australian Institute of Management (WA). John is also a co-author of the Strictly Boardroom column on MiningNews.net. He is also honoured to be a Fellow of the AusIMM.

Biography

Experienced HSEC Manager with a diverse history of working in the mining & metals industry across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Recently transitioning into Exploration department, previously in a Projects role, overseeing delivery of IGO's downstream processing (nickel sulphate) prefeasibility study. Solution focused and skilled in project management, stakeholder engagement, sustainable development practices, HSEC auditing, community relations and mine closure. Currently undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused on Mine Closure Policy, specifically relinquishment, at the ARC Centre for Mine Site Restoration with Curtin University.
